Which African countries produce gold?
Time : 14/04/2023
Several African countries have significant gold reserves, with South Africa being the largest producer. Other gold-producing countries in Africa include Ghana, Tanzania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal, and Zimbabwe, among others. These countries have large-scale industrial mining operations as well as small-scale artisanal mining activities. In recent years, there has been growing interest in the potential for gold mining in countries such as Ethiopia and Sudan, which have so far been underexplored. While gold mining can bring significant economic benefits to these countries, there are also concerns about social and environmental impacts, such as displacement of communities and pollution of water sources.
